![]() ![]() Those who did not purchase Company of Heroes through Steam can use their game's CD-Key to obtain a downloadable version through the "Activate a Product on Steam" option. ![]() The Steam build is available for download now, and those who already own Company of Heroes on Steam should have a new downloadable entry in their library titled " Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)." This includes the core game plus both downloadable expansion packs. Players are advised to switch over to the new Steamworks version before the migration, as all previously existing versions of the game will cease working. ![]() The Legacy Edition and standalone Opposing Fronts/Tales of Valor entries are outdated.Company of Heroes will migrate to Valve's Steamworks service on May 7, as the original servers hosted by middleware company Quazal will be shut down, developer Relic Entertainment announced today on the game's forums. Don't install the Legacy Edition or the Opposing Fronts/Tales of Valor standalone games (MULTIPLAYER DOES NOT WORK FOR THEM AS THE RELIC SERVERS ARE CLOSED), all expansions are included with the game simply called "Company of Heroes" (you can confirm this by going to the DLC menu for "Company of Heroes" in your library, you should see 3 entries, one for the core game and one each for Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor). Play the version simply called "Company of Heroes" (IT USES STEAM SERVERS AND STILL HAS WORKING MULTIPLAYER). I only hope I did a bargain this way seeing I already have the disc versions. Why the hell are there 2 to 3 versions? A legacy edition? A steam version? Why are the expansions (ToV and OF) seperately delivered but are active in the steam version? So, I recently bought this steam version and boy is it a mess. But those only work with a relic account when you try to play online and since those servers are no longer functioning or online rather its hard for people to play online or just downright impossible. I also possess CoH + Tales of Valor and Opposing Fronts on disc. Originally posted by Male Sheep:Same deal here. ![]()
